Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes
Servings: 12 muffins
Course: Breakfast, Snack, Dessert
Difficulty: Easy
Recommended Honey: Browning’s Clover Honey for its light, delicate sweetness. You can also use Browning’s Cinnamon Cream Honey.
Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Line a standard 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease each muffin cup.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the applesauce, Browning’s Honey, eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla until smooth and well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing, as this can make the muffins dense.
If desired, gently fold in the diced apples, nuts, raisins, or dried cranberries.
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups, filling each about three-quarters full.
Bake for 18โ22 minutes, or until the tops are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the muffins to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Store the muffins in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
Freeze for up to 3 months in a freezer-safe bag or container. Thaw at room temperature or warm gently in the microwave for 15โ20 seconds before serving.
